Uploading Tips to think about ahead of time

If your entry contains jumps combine your PDFs into a multiple-page PDF file to make it easier for the judge to read.
Allowable files types this year are PDF only.

File Size concerns

Please save your PDFs as “Reduced File Size” so the judges don’t have to download excessively large files. The form itself limits files to 20MB, but as a general rule PDFs of tabloid newspaper pages rarely need to be larger than 2 or 3 MB. Saving them as Reduced File Size will save you working time (and us too!)

NEW THINGS THIS YEAR!

Photography Entries are PDF tearsheets NOT jpgs

To make things easier, the Photography categories require full page tearsheet PDFs just like the writing and advertising categories. This is a much requested change. No need to dig out the original photographs or jpgs, no cropping, no captions. Just submit the full page tearsheet on which it ran

General Excellence Competition & Special Sections

In past years we’ve asked you to mail in your entries for the General Excellence judging and for the Special Sections category. This year we’re allowing digital entries for both of these competitions. It’s been highly requested and with the cost of postage and

Special Sections

This is the first time we’re accepting digital uploads for the Special Section category. Entry will be a multipage PDF. We have a 20MB limit for uploads via this form so if your entry is too large to upload through the form, you can email your submission instead – or send us a link to a DropBox file – or some other cloud format. We’ll see how this goes and perhaps come up with something easier next year.

Gen Ex

We made a separate form here on the site for General Excellence so you can tell us which editions to use. No need to upload anything – we’ll get the pages from AWSOM.
